It is essential that you know the properties of
the fuel you supply.
Your supply has to meet the range of requirements of the heating
system being used, otherwise the system won't work as efficiently,
may shut down automatically or may be damaged.
The main properties you need to know about are:
- Origin (species type)
- Particle size
- Moisture content
- Ash content
How you describe and measure these, and other properties, is
detailed in European standards (CEN/TS
355).
Good quality control is another essential. Think about what
guarantees you can give in terms of quality, for example HETAS
accreditation or fuel certification reports.
