The Resource Efficient Scotland (RES) Programme, delivered
by Zero Waste Scotland, is offering funding support during 2015/16
to support Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME's) and third
sector organisations who wish to implement resource efficiency
improvements within their organisations.
It is recognised that while organisations understand the
benefits of resource efficiency, they often do not take action,
lacking both time and money to make the necessary changes. This
fund has therefore been designed to help organisations overcome
these barriers through the provision of funding to pay for new
personnel or the redeployment of existing personnel as a short-term
skilled resource to undertake a particular project with a focus on
energy, water and raw materials efficiency, and waste prevention,
or a subset of these. RES would encourage applications that take a
holistic approach and show diversity of the types of savings that
will be achieved by the implementation.
Read the case studies about how
ScotHerbs and Rowan Timber invested their funding and benefited
from cost savings.
RES welcome applications from organisations such as Business
Improvement District management organisations wishing to work with
groups of businesses to address these issues.
It is important that projects demonstrate added value and impact
and that they are focussed on implementation of a resource
efficiency measure or measures, rather than identification or a
feasibility study. In addition, the projects should not relate
solely to improving on-site waste management or the implementation
of an Environmental Management System (EMS). For assistance with
these types of projects, access to other forms of funding or
feasibility work, please contact the Resource Efficient Scotland
Advice and Support Service team on 0808 808 2268 or email [email protected]
The Resource Efficient Scotland programme will provide
£5,000-20,000 to fund a short term skilled resource position for
3-6 months. Up to 100% of the costs will be available, subject to
any de minimis restrictions (see below). Any costs incurred above
the maximum award value will be the responsibility of the
applicant.
Note: The deadline for applications is the 30th June
2015
