Sharenergy is a not-for-profit co-operative which helps
organisations to set up renewable energy Societies. Sharenergy
pioneered the renewable heat Society in the UK and has provided
support for several community share offers raising capital for
woodheat ESCos.
Example projects:
- Woolhope Woodheat (http://woolhopewoodheat.org.uk/) which owns
boilers on client sites in South Herefordshire
- John Cleveland College Community Biomass (http://greenfoxcommunityenergy.coop/jcc/) which
owns a 1MW boiler on a school site
- Narberth Energy (http://narberthenergy.co.uk/) where a community
organisation is installing biomass to heat a swimming pool.
Sharenergy offers services to help set up legal
structures, for business planning, landowner liaison, setting up
and running share offers and has a range of other relevant
capabilities.
