The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) presents a significant
financial opportunity for public sector bodies and housing
associations to reduce their heating spend and profit from
the use and production of renewable heat. Scottish
Procurement's national framework for Biomass (renewable heat) has
been developed to heat public sector buildings across Scotland and
will assist local authorities, registered social landlords
(inc housing associations registered as social
landlords under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001),
police, fire and the third sector in realising the opportunities
presented by the RHI.
Forestry Commission Scotland and the Scottish Regional Woodfuel
Forums, in association with Scottish Procurement and the
Woodfuel Suppliers group, arranged this free Biomass
Energy Supply Framework Seminar, of relevance to both potential end
users of biomass (wood fuel) covered under Scottish Procurement's
national framework and suppliers of wood fuel/biomass energy and
highlighted the significant opportunities associated with the RHI
and Scottish Procurement's biomass procurement framework.
