Short Rotation Forestry Species Trials

Short Rotation Forestry Species Trials

26th July 2022

Woodfuel from short rotation forestry (SRF) has the potential to contribute significantly to Scotland’s renewables mix, in the drive to its net zero targets. Trials began on various species in 2010, and are continuing on to 2024-2026 on 6 separate sites. Assessments were made at the end of growing seasons 1-6, and again at the end of season 10, and the results of the trials so far can be found here.
